Jett

Handler: Louie Hellard

Jett was found on the streets of Miami as an emaciated, sickly, terrified little puppy. After he was nursed back to health he was put up for adoption, but there were no takers. Lucky for him, he was taken in by a rescue organization that quickly adopted him out, only to be returned. When I saw his picture, with those big brown almond eyes, I just knew he had to be a part of my life.

It didn’t take me long for figure out that besides not having any manners, being extremely stubborn, and having an overwhelming amount of energy; he also did some pretty strange things for a dog; like walking on the kitchen counter tops, sleeping on the back of the couch, and climbing trees, not to mention sticking his head in the shower to make sure I hadn’t left without him or his cute little happy dance when he knows its time to eat. (He still rides in the car with his nose tucked in my armpit.) So I decided that obedience class would probably be a good idea. There the trainer suggested flyball as an outlet for his energy. So I went to a local tournament and I was hooked, the rest is history.

Now Jett spends part of each day going over jumps and chasing his tennis ball when he’s not chasing his brother and sister.
